Our Team

Friesen Hauling & Excavating is more than just a name, it is a team of skilled individuals working as a unit to complete jobs and tackle challenges. With the help of Equipment operators, truck drivers, mechanics, office staff, and laborers, the company has been able to successfully bid on and complete large projects and continues to seek new challenges and evolve to meet today’s demands.

Lauren & Emily

Lauren and Emily grew up in the same community and got married in 1974. After working a number of Road construction jobs in Saskatchewan and Mining in northern Manitoba, they came back to the Steinbach area and bought 2 tandem trucks and a crawler loader from Lauren's dad, Erwin P. Friesen. Thus started their business of Friesen Hauling in 1984. Lauren and Emily continue to be involved in the business in daily operations and remain as part owners. They have 4 children and 5 grandchildren and will celebrate their 40th Anniversary summer of 2014.

Chris, Shelly & Family

Chris is stepping into 3rd generation ownership of Friesen Hauling & Excavating. Chris always had a keen interest in the family construction business and grew up working alongside his Father Lauren. Chris grew up with the business and has developed the required skills as the needs have changed. Chris has been with the company from his early years on except for a short stint of heavy equipment operating in the agriculture and road building sectors in 2000-2001. Chris currently oversees the estimating department and works primarily in project management.
